Key Result Responsibilities


  • Prepares and files monthly, quarterly, and annual returns under supervision, including:
  • Income tax (advance, monthly, annual returns/statements)
  • Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty (FED)
  • Withholding tax statements and challans
  • EOBI and Social Security contributions (monthly/periodic filings and payments)
  • Ensures correct application of withholding tax rates before processing payments, escalating queries or unusual cases to the Manager Finance.
  • Tracks statutory deadlines for all returns (FBR, EOBI, Social Security) to ensure timely submissions and payments.
  • Collects, compiles, and organizes supporting data for FBR audits, EOBI inspections, or related notices.
  • Liaises with external tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities as instructed by the Manager Finance/Head of Finance.
  • Prepares reconciliations of tax and contribution accounts with the general ledger; highlights and reports discrepancies.
  • Maintains an organized filing system for all returns, challans, and statutory correspondence.
  • Keeps updated on changes in tax, EOBI, and other statutory laws, circulars, and Finance Acts, and communicates requirements to the Manager Finance.
  • Executes any other tax and compliance-related tasks as directed by the Supervisor/Manager.


Competencies


  • Knowledge of Pakistani Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax Act, Federal Excise Duty, EOBI Act, and Provincial Social Security laws.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in statutory filings and reconciliations.
  • Effective communication and coordination with stakeholders and consultants.
  • Accountability for timely compliance with all statutory deadlines.
  • Adaptability to regulatory changes and evolving compliance requirements.
  • Teamwork and collaboration within the Finance team and external advisors


Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Commerce.
  • Professional qualification or part-qualification (CA, ACCA, ICMA) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Urdu.


Work Experience


  • 2–4 years of experience in tax and statutory compliance in Pakistan.
  • Practical exposure to FBR’s IRIS and Sales Tax portals, as well as EOBI and Social Security filings.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, and reconciliations for tax and statutory authorities.
